Our 2024 workforce report depicts a workforce in flux, with career paths of doctors changing, greater diversity, and continued growth, driven by non-UK graduates joining the register. It also shows more doctors than ever before are taking on locally employed (LE) roles, working outside of formal postgraduate training pathways and employed on local terms by trusts and health boards.
