We work to make sure that your education and training outcomes prepare you to deliver good, safe patient care across the UK.

Our role is to:
- approve which medical schools, PA and AA course providers can award a registrable qualification, and we continue to assess these schools and course providers, and speak to their students, to make sure their programmes meet our standards
- set the standards of patient care and professional behaviours that you’ll need to meet when you become a doctor, physician associate or anaesthesia associate.
- give guidance and advice to help you understand what’s expected of you.
