We deal with concerns about doctors’ fitness to practice. Healthcare professionals must bear in mind their responsibility for patient safety.

How do I raise a concern with the GMC?

If you want to raise a concern confidentially, or do not feel you can raise it with your employers at a local level, we have a confidential helpline available. The helpline is staffed by specially trained advisers. It is open during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 – 17:00).

What will happen next?

We will review your complaint and tell you within two weeks whether we will be investigating it further. If we are unable to investigate, we will explain why. You can read more about the investigation process on our website.
