Have you been registered with another regulator since you last registered with us?

You must give us details of all the regulatory authorities you’ve held registration or a licence with since you were last on the register of PAs and AAs.

This includes:

  • UK regulators like the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • the GMC if you are, or have been, registered with us as a doctor
  • healthcare regulators outside the UK
  • non-healthcare regulators in the UK or overseas.

I haven’t been registered with another professional regulator

You do not need to provide a certificate of current professional status (CCPS).

I have been registered with another professional regulator

You'll need to send us a certificate of current professional status (CCPS) from any regulatory authorities you’ve been registered with since you were last registered with the GMC. You'll need to do this even if you haven’t worked under that registration.

If possible, please arrange for your certificate to be sent directly to the GMC by your regulator. This speeds up the application process. Alternatively, you can send us a copy from your registered email address which we will then verify with your regulator. However, this could delay your application.

Each certificate is only valid for three months from the date that it is signed.

If you're no longer registered with a regulator, you may be able to apply for a certificate of past good standing.

If there's no regulatory authority to issue a certificate

You'll need to ask the organisation(s) where you've worked to complete a healthcare services statement.

If you believe that requesting evidence for your application could put yourself or others at risk, you should submit your application without this evidence. Your adviser will then discuss with you how to move forward safely.
