If you've been off the register for less than two years 

We do not need evidence of your knowledge and skills to re-enter the register of PAs and AAs.

If you've been off the register for more than two years

If you left the register more than two years ago, we need to be satisfied you have the appropriate knowledge and skills to be able to re-enter the register of PAs and AAs.

Physician Associate Registration Assessment – PAs only

In most cases, you'll need to hold a valid pass in the Physician Associate Registration Assessment (PARA) before we will grant you re-entry to the register. 

PARA passes are valid for two years, so if you've been off the register for more than two years, you'll need to retake it.

If your PARA has expired, we strongly recommend that you pass, or at least book, your PARA before making an application for re-entry. It is unlikely that we will grant re-entry to the register without this piece of evidence.

Anaesthesia Associate Registration Assessment – AAs only

Anaesthesia Associate Registration Assessment – AAs only

In most cases, you'll need to hold a valid pass in the Anaesthesia Associate Registration Assessment (AARA) before we grant you re-entry to the register.

AARA passes are valid for two years, so if you've been off the register for more than two years, you'll need to retake it.

If your AARA has expired, we strongly recommend that you pass, or at least book, your AARA before making an application for re-entry. It is unlikely that we will grant re-entry to the register without this piece of evidence.
