Education data tool help
The education data tool provides reports on a range of information we collect to quality assure medical education and training in the UK, including the national training survey (NTS) results. This guide will help you navigate and interpret the reports. Please use the navigation bar on the right to find help content.
The way we present education data has changed. If this is your first time using the education data tool, or if you would like a quick refresher on how it works, please watch the video below, or refer to the annex at the bottom of this guide.
From the landing page you can take a shortcut to a number of common report searches through the 'Explore the data' and 'Other NTS reports' tabs. Or use the report areas at the top of the page, each of which have navigation items as you hover over them.
In addition to the trainee and trainer indicator and question level reports, we also provide other reports based on NTS data. These include trainee and trainer risk of burnout, and an aggregation report which allows you to combine NTS data across years or reporting groups.
The education data tool allows you to access progression data for postgraduate doctors in training, including Annual Reviews of Competency Progression (ARCP) and specialty examinations, as well as details of open and closed enhanced monitoring cases.
