How to complete the survey
When is the survey open?
The national training survey for trainers usually runs between March and May. This year, it was open from Tuesday 24 March 2026 to Thursday 14 May 2026.
Where do you go to complete the survey?
You complete the survey in GMC Online, our secure online portal for doctors. If you don't have a GMC Online account yet, find out how to set one up.
Before you complete your survey you may be asked to update your GMC Online account. If you are, you’ll be guided through some quick and easy steps. Find out more by reading our 'how to' guide.
How long will it take?
It should take around five minutes to complete the national training survey for trainers.
The survey will automatically save your answers once you reach the end of a section. If your computer is inactive for 15 minutes, the survey will time out and you will lose all progress so remember to save. You can use the 'Finish later' button to avoid losing your answers.
To resume the survey, go to the 'My surveys' page in the left-hand menu of GMC Online, and click 'Resume'. 'National training survey 2026' will appear under 'Saved surveys'.
Is there confirmation of survey completion?
When you complete the survey, you will be given a completion code on the last page. You will also receive an email from us shortly after you've finished the survey containing your code which you can use as evidence of your participation in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities. You can find your completion code at any time by clicking on the 'My surveys' page in the left-hand menu of GMC Online.
