GMC use of survey data
Your survey responses form an important element of our Quality Assurance Framework. We use them to identify areas of concern where we need to take action, and areas of good practice that could be shared.
The reports we produce from your answers to multiple choice questions are aggregated and anonymised. This means that individual responses cannot be identified and your answers remain confidential.
We will not share answers to multiple choice questions with anyone outside the GMC survey team.
Third party use of survey data
Statutory education bodies and NHSE local offices and local education providers use survey reports to improve training.
Typically, education bodies will look at very good and very poor results in the survey and carry out investigations. This includes checking against other information they hold and talking to the trust/board, hospital or practice. In some cases, this may trigger a visit from the deanery or NHSE local office to the local education provider.
