- Request an internal appeal
As a physician associate (PA) or anaesthesia associate (AA), you can appeal certain decisions made by authorised decision makers or case examiners in our fitness to practise process. See our Internal appeals guidance (under the heading – Introduction) for the full list of decisions that you can appeal. Your decision letter will also tell you if you can appeal.
Seek permission to appeal
You must submit a notice of appeal within 28 days of receiving the decision. Complete the Notice of appeal form to do this.
A decision maker who was not involved in the original decision will decide whether to grant or refuse permission to appeal.
If permission to appeal is granted, the original decision will be considered by an Appeal Panel. They may dismiss the appeal, or quash, substitute or remit the original decision.
There is no fee to appeal decisions which relate to PA or AA fitness to practise determinations.
