Our measures
We have a range of actions we can take on a physician associate (PA) or anaesthesia associate’s (AA) registration.
We can:
- take action to make sure we protect patients, maintain public confidence in the professions and uphold the standards we expect of PAs and AAs
- give them a warning
- reach an agreement with them to put conditions or suspension in place, or remove them from the register
- refer them to the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS), which has the power to impose restrictions on a PA or AA’s registration or remove them from the register.
All actions we take against PAs and AAs are published on our registers according to our publication and disclosure policy.
