Who are we looking for?

We are looking for registered doctors to become PLAB part 2 examiners. You need to have knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a doctor successfully completing F1.

PLAB Examiners will be:

  • A trainee at ST2 or equivalent (or above) in speciality or GP training.

    OR

  • A doctor who has completed Foundation Training at least two years ago and who is working in a substantive staff grade or associate specialist role.

    OR

  • A senior independent practitioner such as a consultant or qualified GP.

You must be fully registered with a licence to practise and have a reasonable expectation of being in this position for at least five years. You must also be in good standing with us. If you relinquish your licence to practise whilst under contract you will be able to remain in role for up to 3 years. Experience as an objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) examiner and of assessment is an advantage, but not essential.

We're committed to an inclusive philosophy of equality and diversity – a policy reflected in the range of examiners we recruit. All specialties, including GPs, are represented in our examiner pool.
