How we select examiners

Any PLAB examiner job vacancies will be advertised on our vacancies page.

As part of our commitment to diversity, we seek members from a wide range of backgrounds. We actively encourage applications from black and minority ethnic doctors, women and doctors with a disability.

Applicants will be invited to complete a short online application form. Those shortlisted will be invited to attend a training and induction programme which takes place over two days.

The training and assessment days

PLAB examiner training and induction takes place over 2 days:

Day 1 is held in-person at our Manchester office. The day involves an assessed element, and you will be notified shortly after completion if you have been successful at this stage.

Day 2 is currently accessible as a virtual session via MS Teams.

You must be available to attend both training days, however you will be provided with a selection of dates to choose from.
