What if you can’t attend the assessment or refuse to cooperate?

You must attend all parts of the assessment. We will only postpone an assessment in exceptional circumstances.

We understand that sometimes difficulties arise, so if circumstances make it impossible for you to fully participate in the assessment, or you become unwell, you should contact us at the earliest opportunity. We'll ask you to provide supporting evidence.

Failure to cooperate, or to attend all parts of the assessment without good reason, may result in your case being referred to a hearing at the MPTS.

Examples of non-cooperation include:

  • not completing the portfolio in a reasonable time
  • obstructing the assessment team’s access to records or your place of work.
