Assuring readiness for practice: a framework for the MLA
In March 2021 we published Assuring readiness for practice: a framework for the MLA.
The framework formally specifies that, from academic year 2024-25, students graduating from UK medical schools will need to pass the MLA as part of their degree programme before they can join the medical register, and sets out what medical schools need to do to meet our requirements for the MLA.
The framework has since been updated to incorporate necessary programme updates in October 2024 and November 2023. For details, view the summary of changes.
