UK medical schools guide to the MLA

All medical students graduating from UK universities need to pass the MLA as part of their degree before they can join the medical register.

The MLA will improve consistency in what we expect doctors new to the register to know, understand and be able to do. Its aim is to ensure that doctors seeking registration with a licence to practise medicine in the UK have met a threshold for safe practice that is appropriate to their point of entry to the medical register.
