- Referral for a hearing at the MPTS
The Investigation Committee decides how to resolve our investigations where our senior decision makers:
- can't agree what should happen
- offer a warning to a doctor, but the doctor does not accept the warning and asks for an Investigation Committee hearing.
After hearing evidence from us and the doctor, the Investigation Committee can:
- impose a warning on the doctor
- conclude with no action
- refer to the MPTS for a full tribunal hearing if new evidence emerges that suggests the doctor should not be allowed to practise unrestricted.
