Tomorrow's Doctors (2009)
Welcome to the homepage for Tomorrow's Doctors (2009).
About Tomorrow's Doctors
The GMC sets the knowledge, skills and behaviours that medical students learn at UK medical schools: these are the outcomes that new UK graduates must be able to demonstrate. The GMC also sets standards for teaching, learning and assessment. These outcomes and standards are laid down in Tomorrow's Doctors.
The GMC has completed a comprehensive review of Tomorrow's Doctors (2003). Following the review, we have produced Tomorrow's Doctors (2009). The 2003 edition continues to apply to courses in medicine. Medical schools should be preparing now for application of the 2009 edition from 2011/12 onwards.
We have provided links to related documents including:
- other publications on medical education and training from the GMC
- guidance on good practice from the GMC
- external (non-GMC) sources of advice and information.
