Portfolio application in a Non-CCT specialty

This guide is for doctors looking to join the Specialist Register but haven’t completed a GMC approved programme.

If you are able to show that you have knowledge, skills and experience equivalent to a consultant in any UK health service, this guide explains how you may be able to apply via the Portfolio pathway in a non-CCT specialty.

Once you open your application, you will have 24 months to submit it to us. You'll need to prepare evidence before submitting your application. Gathering evidence for a Portfolio application is a large undertaking, so it is important that you plan this. Once your application is submitted; it can take between three and six months to process.
