If you were on the managed voluntary register (MVR) held by the FPA and opted to have your data shared, we should have received your information from them, set up a GMC Online account for you, and emailed you inviting you to apply for registration.

Please check your spam and/or junk folders. If you haven’t received this, please contact us so we can re-issue your invitation. It is important that you do not create a new GMC Online account.

From 13 December 2026, you will need to hold registration with the GMC to work as a PA in the UK. It is therefore important that you gather the evidence you need, and apply to us in good time so we can consider and make a decision on your application before this date.

Starting your application

You need to follow the link in our email to create your GMC Online account.

You’ll be asked to link your details to your GMC Online account. You’ll do this by entering your GMC reference number (which is provided in the email) and your date of birth.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll go on to complete your profile and then you’ll be ready to begin your application.
