Before you are due to qualify, your AA course provider will provide us with your details. We’ll create a unique GMC reference number for you, which you’ll keep for the rest of your career. We’ll email you with your GMC reference number.
Your course provider will tell us when you have been awarded your AA qualification. For AA students that started their courses after September 2023, you’ll also need to pass both parts of the AA Registration Assessment (AARA) which consists of a knowledge test (AARA-KT) and clinical capability assessment (AARA-CCA) before you can apply for registration. Further information about the AARA.
Once you have received your AA qualification and where applicable, after you’ve passed both parts of the AARA, we’ll email you and invite you to start your application for registration.
