Evidence of your knowledge of English language for the anaesthesia associates registration assessment

When you apply for the anaesthesia associates registration assessment (AARA) as an internationally-qualified anaesthesia associate (AA), we need to be satisfied that you have the necessary knowledge of English to practise safely in the UK.

We need to be confident you can communicate effectively in English, so you do not put the safety of your patients at risk. Communicating includes speaking, reading, writing and listening.

The evidence needed to apply for registration may be different. If you are applying for registration, you should read the relevant English language evidence guidance.

The English language evidence we accept is subject to change, meaning evidence we accept now may not always be acceptable. We will publish any changes on these pages. The evidence you provide will be assessed against the requirements in place at the point your application is submitted.
