Undertakings
on the registrant's registration

1. To personally ensure the GMC is notified of the following information within seven calendar days of signing these undertakings:
a. the details of their current post, including
i. their job title
ii. their job location
iii. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy)
b. the contact details for their employer and any contracting body, including their direct line manager
c. any organisation where they have practising privileges and/or admitting rights
d. any training programmes they are in
e. the contact details of any locum agency or out of hours service they are registered with.

2. To personally ensure the GMC is notified:
a. of any post they accept, before starting it
b. that all relevant people have been notified of their undertakings in accordance with undertaking 11
c. if any formal disciplinary proceedings against them are started by their employer and/or contracting body, within seven calendar days of being formally notified of such proceedings
d. if any of their posts, practising privileges or admitting rights have been suspended or terminated by their employer or contracting body before the agreed date, within seven calendar days of being notified of the termination
e. if they apply for a post outside the UK.

3. To allow the GMC to exchange information with any person involved in monitoring their compliance with their undertakings

4. a. To have a workplace reporter appointed by their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy).
b. Not to work until:
i. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) has appointed a workplace reporter
ii. they have personally ensured that the GMC has been notified of the name and contact details of their workplace reporter

5. a. To get the approval of the GMC Adviser before accepting any post.
b. To keep their professional commitments under review and limit their work if the GMC Adviser tells them to.
c. To stop work immediately if the GMC Adviser tells them to and to get the approval of the GMC Adviser before returning to work.

6. To get the approval of the GMC before starting work in a non NHS post or setting.

7. a. To get the approval of their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) and the GMC Adviser before working:
i. as a locum / in a fixed term contract
ii. out of hours
iii. on call
b. Not to work until:
i. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) and the GMC
Adviser have confirmed approval
ii. they have personally ensured that the GMC has been notified of the approval of their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) and the GMC Adviser.

8. a. To be supervised in all their posts by a clinical supervisor, as defined in the Glossary for undertakings and conditions. Their clinical supervisor must be appointed by their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy).
b. Not to work until:
i. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) has appointed their clinical supervisor and approved their supervision arrangements
ii. they have personally ensured that the GMC has been notified of the name and contact details of their clinical supervisor and their approved supervision arrangements.

9. a. To only prescribe, administer, and have primary responsibility for drugs under arrangements that have been agreed by their GMC Adviser and approved by their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy).
b. Not to work until:
i. their GMC Adviser has agreed these arrangements
ii. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) has approved these arrangements
iii. they have personally ensured that the GMC has been notified of these arrangements.

10. Not to prescribe any drugs for themselves, or anyone with whom they have a close personal relationship.

11. To personally ensure the following persons are notified of the undertakings listed at 1 to 12:
a. their responsible officer (or their nominated deputy) b. the responsible officer of the following organisations:
i. their place(s) of work, and any prospective place of work (at the time of application)
ii. all their contracting bodies and any prospective contracting body (prior to entering a contract)
iii. any organisation where they have, or have applied for, practising privileges and/or admitting rights (at the time of application)
iv. any locum agency or out of hours service they are registered with v. If any organisation listed at (i–iv) does not have a responsible officer, to notify the person with responsibility for overall clinical governance within that organisation. If they are unable to identify the correct person, to contact the GMC for advice before working for that organisation. c. their immediate line manager and senior clinician (where there is one) at their place of work, at least 24 hours before starting work (for current and new posts, including locum posts).

12. To allow the GMC to disclose the above undertakings to any person requesting information about their registration status.
