Warnings
on the registrant's registration

On 26 July 2024 at Paisley Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court Dr Khan was convicted of assaulting his wife in 2017, assaulting his daughter in 2022 and threatening and abusive behaviour in 2021. Dr Khan did not notify the GMC without delay of being charged or of being convicted.
This conduct does not meet with the standards required of a doctor. It risks bringing the profession into disrepute and it must not be repeated. The required standards are set out in Good medical practice and associated guidance. In this case, paragraphs 81, 99(b) and 99(c) of Good medical practice are particularly relevant:
81 You must make sure that your conduct justifies patients’ trust in you and the public’s trust in your profession.
99 You must tell us without delay if, anywhere in the world:
…
b you have been charged with a criminal offence in person or by post
c you have been found guilty of a criminal offence.
Whilst this failing in itself is not so serious as to require any restriction on Dr Khan's registration, it is necessary in response to issue this formal warning.
This warning will be published on the medical register in line with our publication and disclosure policy, which can be found at www.gmc-uk.org/disclosurepolicy.
