‘Dr Danjuma The Tribunal has found proved breaches of Good Medical Practice and the GMC Guidance on intimate examinations and chaperones (2013) regarding his consultation with Patient A on 16 October 2022 in that he did not offer her the use of a chaperone when he had a duty to do so. In the circumstances of this particular examination, the Tribunal found that the breaches of GMP did not amount to serious misconduct and the Tribunal did not consider his fitness to practise to be impaired. However, his conduct did not meet the standards required of a doctor and must not be repeated. The required standards are set out in Good Medical Practice at paragraphs 3, 11 and 12. They are also set out at paragraphs 3, 5d and 8 of GMC Guidance on intimate examinations and chaperones (2013). Whilst these failings are not so serious as to require any restriction on his registration, the Tribunal finds it necessary to respond to the departures from the standards required by issuing this warning in the interests of maintaining good professional standards and public confidence in the profession.
