'The Tribunal found that Dr Halim shouted in a discussion with two nurses about how to treat patients during the early days of the Covid pandemic; used innuendo with a fellow doctor in the workplace on one occasion; and bullied a junior doctor on a single ward round, by asking him questions he did not answer, and commenting that this was information that he should have known, in front of patients and other doctors. This behaviour does not meet with the standards required of a doctor. It risks bringing the profession into disrepute and it must not be repeated. The required standards are set out in Good Medical Practice and associated guidance. Rule 36: You must treat colleagues fairly and with respect and Rule 37: You must be aware of how your behaviour may influence others within and outside the team, is particularly relevant. Whilst this failing in itself is not so serious as to require any restriction on your registration, it is necessary in response to issue this formal warning. This is because, as a senior consultant, while patient care has been Dr Halim's overarching objective, he has prioritised this over how he communicated with colleagues on the specific occasions we have found.
