PLAB tests continue with safety rules during lockdown
Exams for international doctors who wish to work in the UK will continue under strict safety measures during the lockdown, the General Medical Council has announced.
Having carefully reviewed the latest government advice, the GMC says its PLAB tests will be carried out with stringent hygiene and social distancing measures in place.
Una Lane, Director of Registration and Revalidation at the GMC said:
‘Overseas trained doctors make an enormous contribution to the NHS and so far more than 7000 have joined our register this year. As pressure continues to mount on our health service, it’s crucial we maintain the flow of new recruits who can bring much needed support to health teams across the country.
‘We’re grateful for the continued support of all involved in delivering these important tests at this uncertain and challenging time.’
