1. 5.  To protect participants and maintain public confidence in research, it is important that all research is conducted lawfully, with honesty and integrity, and in accordance with good practice. This guidance sets out principles of good research practice, which you must follow if you are involved in research.  These are set out in paragraphs 6-32.
