Changes to the process for applying for a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or specialist and GP registration through the Combined Programme (CP)

From 31 March 2013, all applications for a CCT (or CP) must be made within 12 months of a doctor's expected completion of training date. This change also affects doctors who are currently eligible to apply but haven’t yet done so.

How does this change affect me?

I am a doctor who:

I am a doctor who is currently eligible to apply for a CCT (or CP)

You have until 31 March 2014 to submit your application.

If you submit your application more than six months after you were eligible, we may ask you to provide additional evidence in support of your application.

After 31 March 2014 you will have to apply for a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) or Certificate of Eligibility for GP Registration (CEGPR) to get entry onto the specialist or GP registers.

I am a doctor who will be eligible to apply for a CCT (or CP) on or before 31 March 2013

You will have until 31 March 2014 to submit your application.
