We don’t accept primary medical qualifications (PMQs) from the institutions listed below.

We only place an institution on this list after carrying out a full investigation and concluding it is the most appropriate action. We may add an institution where, for example:

  • we have information that shows its qualification doesn't satisfy our current criteria for overseas PMQs
  • we get information about irregularities with the institution’s course of study or the awarding of qualifications.

Is my PMQ acceptable if it is not on this list?

If you hold a PMQ from an institution that does not appear on this list, or has previously appeared on this list, but no longer does, it does not mean that your PMQ is automatically acceptable. Your PMQ must satisfy all our criteria for overseas qualifications to be considered acceptable.

Cook Islands

Georgia
  • Caucasus Medicine School (for students who completed their study prior to 2022)
  • European University Tbilisi (for students who started study before 2019)
  • Georgian National University SEU Faculty of Medicine (for students that began their study prior to 20/09/24)
  • New Vision University (graduates who have completed the medical qualification in less than six years)

Liberia 

  • Saint Luke School of Medicine

Saint Lucia

  • Atlantic University School of Medicine

  • Spartan Health Sciences University (where course of study began on or before 31 December 2008)

  • St Mary’s Medical School

Senegal

  • St Christopher Ibrahima Mar Diop College of Medicine (for students who graduated before 2003)

  • St Christopher Ibrahima Mar Diop College of Medicine – UK campus
Serbia
  •  University of Nis (for students who completed their studies prior to 2006)

Seychelles 

  • University of Seychelles American Institute of Medicine (USAIM)
St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • American University of St. Vincent School of Medicine (for all students that completed their study prior to 2020)

Ukraine
  • Crimea State Medical University named after S I Georgievsky (students who began their studies after 1 March 2014)

  • Crimean Medical Institute (students who began their studies after 1 March 2014)

  • Dnipro Medical Institute of Traditional and Non-Traditional Medicine

  • Dnipropetrovsk Medical Institute of Traditional and Non-Traditional Medicine

  • European Medical University (new name for Dnipro Medical Institute of Traditional and Non-Traditional Medicine)

  • International European University European Medical School

  • Lugansk State Medical University located in Lugansk (students who began or completed their studies after 30 September 2014)

  • Vernadsky Crimean Federal University S.I. Georgievsky Medical Academy (students who began their studies after 1 March 2014) 

  • V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (for any students that have completed the course in less than 6 years based on having a previous non-medical degree)
