Regulating doctors, ensuring good medical practice

Patients' help - Handling complaints - first contact

We appreciate that making a complaint can be stressful. Our staff are trained to handle complaints sensitively and will be able to talk to you in confidence about any concerns you may have in making your complaint.

You can raise concerns about a doctor to the GMC by:

  • writing to the General Medical Council Fitness to Practise Directorate, 3 Hardman Street, Manchester M3 3AW
  • emailing practise@gmc-uk.org
  • completing our online complaints form

If you have any questions you can talk to our contact centre who will be happy to help you.
