Decisions about registration for physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs)

What are we publishing here?

We publish decisions we’ve taken about registration on this page, including:

• decisions to remove entries from the register
• re-entries to the register
• revisions of previous decisions
• the outcomes of and reasons for appeals decisions.

We do this to be transparent about, and to enable others to hold us to account for, decisions we’ve taken.

We’ll publish this information when the individual to whom the decision relates has been notified of the decision. There may be circumstances where immediate publication isn’t possible and we’ll publish those decisions as soon as we can.

Removals

If we remove a PA or AA’s entry from the register of PAs and AAs, we’ll publish our removal decision here, for 10 years after we’ve removed the PA or AA’s register entry.

Re-entries

If we grant a PA or AA re-entry to the register of PAs and AAs, we'll publish our re-entry decision here, for 10 years after re-entry.

Revisions

We may sometimes revise decisions to remove a register entry or to refuse re-entry, and, where we do, we’ll publish the revision here for three months.

Appeals

Where there’s an appeal against a decision we’ve made, we’ll publish the appeal outcome and reasons here for three months from the date when we receive the appeal outcome. Or until we receive the outcome of a further appeal to a court. The appeal outcome information will include the:

• appellant’s name
• appeal body
• appeal type
• appeal outcome
• decision date
• date the decision took effect.

We’ll publish the appeal outcome and reasons in a downloadable document, or a link to where this information is published on another website (for external appeal bodies such as courts).
