Confirmation of UK training
This page is for doctors who need confirmation of their UK specialist or GP training posts undertaken.
If you decide to work overseas, the relevant authority in that country may want to confirm the specialist training or qualifications you have completed.
Confirmation of specialist or GP training
If you completed specialist or GP training in the UK you can request confirmation of these posts from us.
We'll confirm posts that we can verify from records of your training that the GMC or respective Royal College / Faculty holds. Please note that these requests can take a number of weeks for us to process, if we need to verify your training posts with the relevant Royal College/Faculty.
As an alternative you can obtain proof of your registration entry (PRE) via your GMC online account. We won’t be able to confirm posts which cannot be verified and if this is the case, we'll explain this in our response.
Making a request
- E-mail portfolio@gmc-uk.org or contact us clearly stating that you require confirmation of your specialist/GP training posts
- We will aim to check your request within 5 working days and send an application form to complete
- E-mail a completed application form to portfolio@gmc-uk.org
On receipt of a completed application form it may take up to 6 weeks to complete your request as we may need to verify your information with the Royal College / Faculty.
