Provisional registration

You can’t apply for provisional registration if you qualified in Latvia.

I completed my medical degree

On or after 1 May 2004

Provide an ārsta diploms (medical degree certificate) that was issued by a Latvian university.

On or before 30 April 2004

Provide an ārsta diploms (Medical degree certificate) that was issued by a Latvian university and one of the following.

• A document confirming the training leading to the award of your primary qualification meets the standards detailed in Article 24 of the Directive. This must be issued by the Latvijas Arstu Biedriba (Latvian Medical Association).

OR:

• A document confirming you have effectively and lawfully been engaged in actual medical practice for at least three years during the five years immediately before the award of the certificate (as detailed in Article 23.1 of the Directive). This must be issued by Latvijas Arstu Biedriba (Latvian Medical Association), or the competent authority of the EEA country or Switzerland where you are now working.

If you qualified or began your training in the former Soviet Union on or before August 1991

Provide a document confirming you have been effectively and lawfully engaged in actual medical practice for at least three consecutive years during the five years immediately before the award of the certificate (as detailed in Article 23.4 of the Directive). This must be issued by Latvijas Arstu Biedriba, or the competent authority of the EEA country or Switzerland where you are now working.

Entry onto the Specialist Register 

I have a Relevant European Specialist qualification

Your specialty must be listed on our Relevant European qualification list by the country that awarded it. If your specialist qualification is listed, but you do not already hold full registration you should apply for full registration with a licence to practise and entry onto the Specialist Register at the same time.

I completed my specialist training on or after 1 May 2004

Provide a Sertifikāts — kompetentu iestāžu izsniegts dokuments, kas apliecina, ka persona ir nokārtojusi sertifikācijas eksāmenu specialitātē (specialist certificate), issued by Latvijas Arstu Biedriba or the Latvian Medical Union of Professional Organisations.

I completed my specialist training on or before 30 April 2004

Send us a Gimenes ārsta sertifikats (certificate of specialist training), issued by Latvijas Arstu Biedriba.
