Your qualification will be treated as a ‘recognised specialist qualification’ if:

  • It’s a specialist or GP qualification listed in this document
  • AND it was awarded in line with any stipulations as shown in this document.

Where additional documents are listed to confirm how your qualification was awarded, these should be uploaded in the same section as your Specialist and GP qualification in your online application.

If the list states additional verified documents are needed, you should submit these to be verified by our provider at the same time as your recognised specialist qualification.

Australia

Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) The qualification must be awarded under any of the RACGP curricula from 2007 to date, following satisfactory completion of the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) programme General Practice N/a Letter from the RACGP specifically confirming that your Fellowship was awarded after completion of the AGPT programme. This document must be verified by our provider at the same time as your qualification.
Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) The qualification must be awarded under any of the Fellowship curricula from 2013 to date and following satisfactory completion of an approved AGPT programme. General Practice N/a Letter from the ACRRM specifically confirming that your Fellowship was awarded after completion of the AGPT programme. Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP). College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) The qualification must be awarded under any of the CanMEDS-Family Medicine curricula from 2009 to date, following satisfactory completion of the two-year clinical training programme. General Practice

You must have undertaken at least two years' whole-time experience (or the equivalent part time) working unsupervised as a fully licensed family physician in Canada, but not exclusively in remote rural practice. If you completed a third year of enhanced skills training for the Certificate of Added Competency (CAC) in one of the areas listed below, it can contribute one year towards this requirement.

  • Addiction medicine
  • Care of the elderly
  • Emergency medicine
  • Palliative care
  • Sport and exercise medicine.

Letter from the CFPC specifically confirming that your certificate was awarded after completion of the two year clinical training programme. This document must be verified by our provider at the same time as your qualification.

You will also need to provide:

  • An up to date CV (even if applying with a qualification awarded less than three years ago)

  • A reference from a current GP colleague covering your most recent period of practice. We will verify this directly with the referee.

If this reference will not cover two full years of independent practice, you will need to provide further references totalling two years.

Certificate of Satisfactory Completion of Specialist Training (CSCST) Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (RCPI)  The qualification must be awarded under any of the Paediatric Cardiology Higher Specialist Training curricula from 2024/2025 (published July 2024) to date, following satisfactory completion of the RCPI formal training programme.

Dual fellowship training in general practice and rural hospital medicine leading to the award of FRNZCGP and Fellowship of the Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (FDRHMNZ) Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and Division of Rural Hospital Medicine (DRHMNZ) This should follow satisfactory completion of the Rural Hospital Training Programme (RHTP) in parallel with the General Practice Education Programme (GPEP) under any of the RNZCGP curricula from 2012 to date.
