Provisional registration with a licence to practise

Full registration with a licence to practise

I have previously held provisional registration

We need a Potrdilo o Opravilenem Strokovnem Izpitu za Poklic Zdravnik/Zdravnica, issued by a Slovenian university. 

I have held provisional registration and completed Foundation Year 1 (F1)

We need a certificate of experience. Your Foundation School will send this to us directly.

I have not held provisional registration

I started basic medical training

On or after 1 May 2004

Send us a Diploma s katero se podelijue strokovni naslov “doktor medicine/doktorica medicine” (Diploma granting the degree Doctor of Medicine) issued by a Slovenian University.

And send us a Potrdilo o Opravljenem Strokovnem Izpitu za Poklic Zdravnik/Zdravnica issued by the Ministry of Health.
 

On or before 30 April 2004

Send us a Diploma s katero se podelijue strokovni naslov “doktor medicine/doktorica medicine (Diploma granting the degree Doctor of Medicine) issued by a Slovenian University.

And send us a Potrdilo o Opravljenem Strokovnem Izpitu za Poklic Zdravnik/Zdravnica issued by the Ministry of Health.

You must also send us one of the following.

• A document confirming the training leading to the award of your primary qualification meets the standards detailed in Article 24 of the Directive. This must be issued by the Slovenian Ministry of Health.

OR:

• A document confirming you have been effectively and lawfully engaged in actual medical practice for at least three consecutive years during the five years immediately before the award of your certificate (as detailed in Article 23.1 of the Directive). This must be issued by either the Slovenian Ministry of Health or the competent authority of the EEA country or Switzerland where you are now working.

I began training in the former Yugoslavia, before 26 June 1991

You must also send us a document that confirms:

• you have been effectively and lawfully engaged in actual medical practice for at least three consecutive years during the five years immediately before the award of your certificate, as detailed in Article 23 of the Directive
• your qualification complies with Article 23.5 of the Directive. 

This must be issued by either the Slovenian Ministry of Health or the competent authority of the EEA country or Switzerland where you are now working.

Entry onto the Specialist Register

I have a Relevant European Specialist qualification

Your specialty must be listed on our Relevant European qualification list by the country that awarded it. If your specialist qualification is listed, but you do not already hold full registration you should apply for full registration with a licence to practise and entry onto the Specialist Register at the same time.

I started specialist training on or after 1 May 2004

Send us a potrdilo o opravljenem specialisticnem izpitu (Certificate of successful completion of the specialist exam), issued by the Slovenian Ministry of Health or the Medical Chamber of Slovenia.

I started specialist training on or before 30 April 2004

Entry onto the GP Register 

I started GP training on or after 1 May 2004

Send us a Potrdilo o opravljeni specializaciji iz dru žinske medicine (Certificate of completion of specialist training in family medicine), issued by the Medical Chamber of Slovenia.

I started GP training on or before 30 April 2004

I don’t have a GP qualification listed on the Relevant European qualification list
