CPR clarification statement

The purpose of this statement is to clarify our regulatory requirements for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). It clarifies whether directing CPR, rather than the student carrying it out themselves, is allowable in terms of students meeting the CPR competency standard in Outcomes for graduates (2018).

The statement has been prepared following a request for clarification from the Medical Schools Council (MSC) on behalf of schools. It applies to all stages of medical education and training in the UK.
