Broad based training (BBT)

Broad based training is a two year core training programme designed to give doctors in training experience in each of four specialties:

• Internal medicine
• General practice
• Paediatrics
• and Psychiatry.

Trainees, subject to satisfactory progress, will develop a broad experience base and the potential to enter any of the four specialties to pursue their higher specialty training.
