Work experience and doctors in training
How can I get relevant work experience?
What is a doctor in training?
Doctors in training are those who either:
- are in foundation year two
- are in a GMC approved training programme
- have a fixed term specialty training appointment (FTSTA), or
- have a locum appointment for training (LAT).
Postgraduate medical education organisations are responsible for doctors in training. These include Health Education England, Health Education and Improvement Wales, NHS Education for Scotland and Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency.
