Managing lists of registered professionals

We make sure that every doctor, physician associate (PA) and anaesthesia associate (AA) has the right knowledge, skills, qualifications and experience to work across the UK. We do this by maintaining official lists of these registered professionals, available online.

We also make other checks. For example, we contact a doctor’s previous employers to find out if they have any concerns about the doctor’s ability to practise safely.

And we keep track of changes to records to make sure our registers stay up to date.
