Sport and Exercise Medicine
Approved Curriculum and Associated Assessment System 2010
Doctors wishing to undertake training in the specialty of Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) must first complete 2 years of Specialty Training in a Core Medical Training (CMT) programme or an Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) training programme. General Practice is also a route through which doctors who have qualified as General Practioners may enter the SEM higher specialty training programme. From ST3 onwards training is specific to SEM but the training to CCT requires the completion of both core and higher approved training.
Core and higher specialty training are presented in separate curriculum documents that can be accessed by clicking the links below. The 2010 approved documentation for SEM incorporates both the specialty curriculum and blueprinted assessment system.
