Specialty Curriculum and Associated Assessment System

Doctors wishing to undertake training in the specialty of Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus must first complete 2 years of Specialty Training in a Core Medical Training (CMT) programme or Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) programme. From ST3 onwards training is specific to Endocrinology & Diabetes Mellitus but the training to CCT requires the completion of both core and higher approved training.

Specialty Curriculum

Specialty training in endocrinology and diabetes mellitus consists of a number of elements: Core training in ST1 and ST2, followed by specialty training from ST3 onwards, and underpinned throughout by generic training (ST1 onwards).  Each of these has a separate curriculum element (see links below).  Acute Common Care Stem (Medicine) trainees will also follow the ACCS training manual. (pdf)
