How we monitor the quality of education and training - the Quality Assurance Framework

We monitor the quality of education and training by:

Our Quality Assurance Framework (QAF)

The framework (previously known as Quality Improvement Framework) sets out how we secure our new undergraduate and postgraduate standards for medical education and training - Promoting Excellence. It clarifies our responsibilities around quality assurance, and defines the processes by which organisations responsible for medical education and training will have to demonstrate that they meet our standards.

The QAF helps educators and organisations establish quality management and quality control processes that can demonstrate training monitoring, data collection and identify improvements required. It also helps us identify where organisations are not meeting our standards for medical education and training, and outline options for promoting improvement.
