Why choose voluntary erasure? - Voluntary erasure - page 2 of 8

Voluntarily erasing your name from the register benefits you in a number of ways:

  • You can decide the date on which your name is erased, up to three months in advance.
  • You may be eligible for a partial refund of your annual retention fee.
  • You can restore your name to the register without paying a restoration fee.

We understand that collecting the evidence required for voluntary erasure may seem unnecessary, particularly if you are retiring. However, there are good reasons why we ask you to do this.

Please see our frequently asked questions page for more information about why you should choose voluntary erasure.
