How much to pay

Fees to leave or change your status on the medical register

Application fee to give up registration and licence to practise (also known as voluntary erasure):
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Application fee to give up the licence to practise (also known as relinquish licence):
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Application fee to restore the licence to practise:
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Application fee for a first licence to practise:
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Fee for licence withdrawal (by the GMC):
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Fees to restore to the medical register

Restoration fee payable when you apply to restore your name to the register following an administration erasure (payable in addition to the annual retention fee):
£325 from 1 April 2018 (previously £325 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).

Application fee to restore your registration following voluntary erasure (payable in addition to the annual retention fee):
£10 from 1 April 2018 (previously £10 from 3 December 2016 to 31 March 2018).
