Certificate of Eligibility General Practice (CEGPR) approved programme application

This guide is for doctors who have completed GP training in an GMC approved training post, but failed to pass one part of the MRCGP within programme.

It explains if you are eligible for a CEGPR (approved practice) application and how to make one. Please note, If you want to work as a GP in the UK health services (other than in a training post) you must be on our GP Register.

Important information for doctors intending to work as a GP in the UK

To start work as a GP in the UK, you'll need to complete a number of processes. Some of these are handled by organisations other than the GMC.
