How is my application assessed?

Assessing your application

When we assess your application, we'll compare your qualification against the GMC approved training programme for your specialty.

For a CESR application assessed under the General System of assessment, the evaluators will review whether the syllabus for your overseas qualification is equivalent to the UK CCT curriculum (for your specialty).

If we identify any differences, we will ask you to make up for these differences by completing an adaptation period.

You’ll need to provide evidence that you have the depth and breadth of competencies in the CCT curriculum for your specialty.
