Coming to an identity check in the UK
You must have an identity check in the UK before we can grant your application. At the identity check we'll take your photograph and check your original documents.
I took PLAB 2 on or after 2 October 2018
You will have an identity check when you come to take the PLAB 2 test. If we need more information, we may invite you for a second identity check once we approve your application.
I took PLAB 2 before 2 October 2018
You will need to come for a second identity check and we will invite you to book one once we approve your application. These take place at our offices in Manchester and London.
You have six months from the date we approve your application to attend the identity check. If you live overseas, please make sure you can come to the UK in time for your identity check. We can't extend the time limit for the identity checks for any reason.
We'll also ask you to book a place on a Welcome to UK practice event. You might want to arrange this for the same day.
For more information about this, see our guidance on identity checks.
How coronavirus (Covid-19) has affected our ID checks
We’ve had to make some changes to the way we run our ID checks to comply with the UK Government’s guidance on social distancing.
See our guidance on attending your identity check for more information.
