When and where can I take PLAB 1?
We’ve been doing all we can to make sure PLAB 1 runs as regularly and safely as possible.
PLAB 1 tests for the rest of 2020 are currently going ahead as planned. We’re continually reviewing our arrangements for PLAB 1 based on advice from governments in the countries where exams are held.

PLAB 1 test dates
We run the exam four times a year in the UK and in a number of overseas locations. To see the locations and whether places are available you'll need to register for a GMC Online account and look under the 'My Tests' section. Future exam dates and both UK and overseas closing dates, are listed below.
All exam places are limited and in high demand. We carefully monitor demand to ensure that availability is evenly and fairly spread throughout the year.
Please note that we are unable to add extra test locations during 2020 in addition to those that are available to book via GMC Online.

When can you take the exam outside the UK?
We run the exam four times a year in the UK and in a number of overseas locations. The overseas exams are hosted for us by the British Council and are listed below along with the contact details. Once you have booked online, please only contact the relevant British Council office if you have not received details of the venue two weeks before the exam.
