Take part in our written and practical assessment pilots

We’re looking for volunteers to test the practical and written assessments that help us check whether a doctor is fit to practise.

We’re doing this to make sure the tests are reliable, set at the right level, and fair to the doctor being assessed.

This is an opportunity to get valuable exam practice and gain extracurricular experience for applications and appraisals.

You’ll also receive £350 for taking part in an OSCE pilot, and £175 for taking part in a written exam pilot.

To be eligible, you must be FY2 to consultant level and have worked in the specialty being piloted for at least four months in the last two years.

What’s involved?

We’ll reimburse reasonable travel expenses and provide refreshments throughout each day.

OSCE pilots

As a volunteer, you’ll spend the day completing an objective structured clinical exam (OSCE). You’ll sit up to 10 stations in the morning, lunch will be provided, and then you’ll sit a second circuit in the afternoon.

Written exam pilots

This is a half day session. You’ll sit a two hour single best answer knowledge test.
