Information for PA and AA students and educators
Regulation will help assure patients, colleagues and employers that PAs and AAs can work safely and be held to account if serious concerns are raised.
Once regulation begins in December 2024, we’ll have powers to set the standards for course providers and regularly check that they’re being met. We’ll also approve courses and curriculum to ensure that PAs and AAs will have the knowledge, behaviour and skills needed to work safely once they qualify. This guide outlines how we’ll work with course providers to do this and links to useful documents.
We’ve also brought together information to help PA and AA students prepare for becoming regulated professionals. This guide provides details of the registration assessment that students will sit, the professional guidance to follow up to and after graduation, and how we’ll invite students to apply for registration.
